Jewel's Story...
Meet Jewel, nicknamed Kitty Gumdrop because she likes it better. She is her own person cat, will not be picked up but will sit with you on her own terms. She will faithfully sit in whatever room you are occupying and will sleep at the end of your bed. She uses her litter box every time you are similarly engaged in your own private quarters. She will play happily with a ragged lump that used to be a mousie and she can jump nearly three feet to catch whatever you throw into the air. Kitty G is a mighty female hunter. Maybe we should call her Cougar Girl. She will want food put in her bowl after she has eaten three or four bites of the "old" food. She loves to drink from the faucet. She needs a loving family who will enjoy playing Where's the birdie, Toss the Mousie, and Drag the Dead-Looking Thingie to the next room. She will guard your house if you give her a window to look out of. Plainly, she is an irresistible--also very beautiful--tortoise with lovely markings. Come for coffee and see if she decides to be your furry friend. You can contact Jewel's foster mom at:

All of our cats and kittens have been fostered in a home environment and are litter box trained, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, spayed/neutered, and have been tested for FIV and FeLV prior to being made available for adoption.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jewel, a Edmond Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Edmond, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Edmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Edmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Edmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Edmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
