I am already neutered, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.
Freddie (3 years) is a super cool, sweet boy that was found as a stray. He LOVES pets and brushes which bring on loud purrs. He often will admire himself in the bathroom mirror after pets and brushes, satisfied with his handsomeness. Playtime is a lot of fun with Freddie; he jumps, chases and runs in circles to catch the laser dot or teaser feather. His fluffy legs make him look like a bouncy teddy bear and he loves to grapple with stuffed mice and catnip toys. And when it's time for bed he'll sleep at the end of the bed leaving plenty of space for the people. He also enjoys lap time, treats, following the people around the house to see what they are up to, and watching birds through the window. Freddie may need to be the only kitty in the house but perhaps it will just take the right household/other kitties to bring him around.

Our Organization
Tails High is a cat rescue and adoption organization based in Alexandria, Virginia founded and staffed by compassionate volunteers who find joy in placing stray, abandoned, or homeless cats and kittens in permanent loving homes. We know that there is a perfect rescue cat for everyone.
In making wonderful feline-human matches, Tails High is dedicated to helping both rescued cats and kittens and their human families by providing wonderful cats to people looking for a sympathetic ear and a soft purr. We believe that cats are ideal companions: easy to take care of, highly intelligent, and therapeutic.
Our Cats
All our cats and kittens have tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV, are current on their vaccinations, and have been spayed or neutered, so owners should not have any vet bills for the first year. We spend a lot of time playing and cuddling with our rescue kitties, as well as socializing them, and making sure they learn to love their people as much as their people love them.
Hallmark, Every Tuesday and Saturday – 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Several of our kitties will be on display every Tuesday and Saturday at JJ’s Hallmark, 610 King St in Old Town, Alexandria 22314. We welcome all cat lovers in the area to come by and meet us. We’d love to talk to you about our new business and explain the many different ways you can get involved in the organization.

If you and/or a friend are looking for a special companion, are interested in talking about cats, or just want to meet and play with some very friendly cats and kittens, come to our adoption event at 211 King Street, in Old Town, Alexandria.
We have a Foster-To-Adopt program that allows you to test the cat in your home for a period of time on a trial basis as a foster parent before finalizing the adoption. In fact, when you have another pet in the home (whether it’s a dog, another cat, birds, rabbit, ferret, etc.) or you have young kids or elderly parents living with you, we recommend that you do a Foster-To-Adopt to make sure it is a good fit for you and your family as well as resident pets and the Tails High cat or kitten(s) you’ve selected. Our goal is to make every effort to match people with the cats or kittens that fit their lifestyle and vice versa.
What costs are involved in adopting a cat from Tails High?
All of the cats and kittens at Tails High are fully vetted at the time of adoption. They are FELV/FIV combo tested, vaccinated against rabies and distemper, and they have been spayed or neutered to protect against the feline population increasing.
The adoption fee is $125 for single cat or kitten and $200 for a pair. This is a huge savings to the adopter considering if you took the same cat to a veterinarian for a spay or neuter surgery and vaccinations the cost would be upwards of $300 per cat.
