Dolly's Story...
We want to share with you, the words of the volunteer who took Dolly's pictures.

"She really tugs at my heartstrings. She was surrendered by her owner. I am not sure what the reason was, but the whole time that I was trying to take her picture, she kept looking for her people. It really stinks!! She is precious and needs a happy, loving home where she can forget about her sadness."

Let's send this wonderful young lady home for the holidays! Dolly is a great size (about 28 lbs), and is old enough to know how to be a good girl but is young enough (only about four year old) that she will have many, many loving years to share with the new family who is lucky enough to adopter her!

Dolly will be available to meet visitors on Sunday, December 16th. If you are interested in being pre-approved to adopt this deserving young lady, you can find an application on the website ( The Haven is open seven days a week from 1-5 pm if you would like to come meet the pups and see if the perfect pooch is waiting to find your family.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dolly, a Antioch Pug/Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pug/Beagle for sale in Antioch, or seeking a Pug/Beagle dog from a breeder in Antioch.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Antioch already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Antioch breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pug/Beagle breeders who help with Pug/Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Antioch paves the way for another one to be saved.
