Nugget's Story...
“Nugget” is a 10 year old male grey cockatiel. He has never met a mirror he did not like! If a toy has a mirror he is really happy. He has mirrors on his play stand too! Nugget is a very happy bird; he has a very pretty sound in the morning at wake up time. Nugget is inquisitive and likes to explore but his happiest place is his play stand or cage. He has a variety of foods available to him as pellets and seed and he is beginning to try a few fresh foods. He enjoys the Zupreem fruit pellets while on his play stand. Nugget will only step up onto one finger and not multiple fingers. His favorite toys have mirrors and he is taking a liking to string toys and a new plastic colorful one with a bell on the bottom. He is around other birds in his foster home but has not been caged with them, but prior to foster with FPR, he was an only bird. He loves for you to talk to him and responds. Nugget is looking for his forever home and would like you to consider him for his many remaining years!

About Our Rescue Group...
Florida Parrot Rescue is dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of companion parrots. We strive to educate parrot owners on proper handling and care of parrots. Should someone be unable to keep their bird(s) for ANY reason, we want them to know there is a place to turn, and that they are not alone. It is our goal to provide a safe haven for birds that cannot stay with their owners or birds in need, and then to find those birds permanent forever homes with loving and responsible families.

Our Adoption Process...
We require an application which is free of charge, an adoption fee which varies on the bird you wish to adopt. We do NOT adopt our for breeding purposes.

Rescue and rehabilitate abused and neglected birds
Veterinary care and treatment for birds in need
Provide parrot owners with a place to bring their birds in the event that they can no longer keep them.
Educate new & current parrot owners on proper care & handling of their companion parrots.
