Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Nicholas is a 14 week old kitten that has lost one eye and can't see well out of the other. He was absolutely someone's kitten because he is extremely friendly and loving. He would not be this sweet and loving if he wasn't handled from the time he was a smaller kitten. He was found outside with some other kittens. they were all taken to a shelter, but because is was so obvious that he had vision problems, they refused to take him in and the woman who brought him put him back outside where she found him. So, we have this almost blind kitten, that no one wants, and the the only thing these people can do is to put him back outside to try to fend for himself, being blind. Brilliant idea for this poor little guy!
***Update Nicholas has been with me for over a week now and I noticed that he plays with toys, he climbs stairs, he makes his way around my two story house with relative ease. His only problem is going down stairs. Sometimes he falls down most of them so if I am with him, I carry him down the stairs. He's fallen down the stairs only twice that i know of. It doesn't deter him though, he sleeps in bed with me every night.
On January 2, 2013, he will go in to have his bad eye removed completely and his eye lid will be stitched closed. I am convinced that he has limited vision out of his "good" eye. Which is really good news!!
Now Nicholas is with CATS and he is at the vet's being tested, neutered, black lighted, getting all of his shots and then he will be available for adoption to a very special person or family. With what this little guy has been through, he certainly deserves a second chance at life and he needs a very special person to love him and take care of him for the rest of his life.
You may obtain an online application by logging on to CatAdoptionRI.org or by emailing catadoptionteam@aol.com. All of the cats and kittens are adopted out with Rhode Island State mandated proof of spay or neuter. In order to take your new cat or kitten home with you, there must be an approved application prior to adoption day. Application approval is usually within 24-48 hours. We, at CATS, are very proud of all of the cats and kittens that we help facilitate finding new forever homes, and work very hard to make sure they are happy, healthy and well socialized. All of the cats and kittens are fed only Royal Canin cat food. We are at the Providence Petco, located at 585 N. Main Street, Providence, RI every Sunday from 10 am to 3 pm and you are welcome to come by and see all the cats and kittens that are looking for new 'Forever Homes'. Hard copy medical records accompany each cat and kitten on adoption day as each cat or kitten is completely vetted prior to their adoption. The adoption donation is $150.00 each after an approved application. This is not a sale, but an adoption donation. The policy is that all of our cats and kittens will be adopted out spayed or neutered, tested for feline aids/leukemia, and have all age appropriate shots. There will not be any adoption of any cat or kitten that has not been spayed or neutered first. There will be no exceptions. This means that there is less out of pocket costs for people who adopt a cat or kitten from us and you will be in 100% COMPLIANCE WITH THE SPAY/NEUTER LAW TOO!
