Carmen's Story...
Knocked up and all alone. That's how Carmen found herself about a year ago. She'd been abandoned by her owner so had nowhere to go. Still, she had her litter and nursed them all safely through puppyhood. Life was hard though, without a safe and loving home. Eventually she and her pups found themselves at Murray County Animal Control and their days were numbered! Now rescued from death row Carmen and her two pups, Claudina and Carlie, are forever grateful to be here! All three have sweet personalities. Carmen's around 2 years young and weighs about 30 pounds. She's got an expressive face and is alert and smart. All three gals are in need of heartworm medication (which the rescue group will provide free of charge). Heartworm is all too common in the south, is caused by mosquitoes, isn't contagious and full recovery is expected. She shows no outward signs of the condition (it's detected by a simple blood test). This mom deserves a chance to be babied herself! Can you help? For more info contact adoptions@homelesspets.com. Or fax an application (found at homelesspets.com/adoptions) to 770-971-1292. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Carmen, a Marietta Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
