Hawkeye's Story...
Hi there! I’m Hawkeye, a 2 year old male Coonhound mix. I weigh 64 lbs. and I have a lot of love to give! I'm currently hanging out in the prison foster program where I'm learning basic commands. My handler says I’m doing a really good job learning proper leash manners and that I’ll be a Pro in no time at all. I like to play with other dogs, so a fur-ever home with a buddy would be really cool. I can't wait to meet you and I promise to be your best friend! For more information about me, please contact my consultant, Lisa at 440-243-1245, or email her at lmjolivares@gmail.com

** The adoption fee helps to cover the general veterinarian check-up, heartworm test, spay/neuter, basic vaccinations, rabies vaccination, worming, flea preventative, and microchip that all dogs adopted through Berea ARF receive prior to going into their new home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hawkeye, a Berea Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Coonhound for sale in Berea, or seeking a Coonhound dog from a breeder in Berea.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berea already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berea breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Coonhound breeders who help with Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berea paves the way for another one to be saved.
