My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

March 2013 update! Trixie is just the darling of the office at the doggy day care where she is staying. She greets everyone new that comes in and thinks she is the mayor ; 0 ) Trixie is happy to be in New England and is really looking forward to settling in with a family of her own. She would love a canine buddy or just to have a human family. She is great with kids but too interested in cats to live successfully with them. Her initial wariness of people has disappeared and she thinks canine buddies are just the best now! She has come a long way in a short time!

January 2013 update! Trixie's foster dad runs a doggy day care and she is happy that every day is "take your dog to work day". Her foster dad tells us, "Trixie is doing so well. She has learned to socialize with all types of dogs. No problems at all! I have tried her in the living room environment and she loves it. She has a new buddy - Benny. They hang out on the couch together. She is such a sweetheart! Loving, caring, and so much fun."

Trixie is a total cutie who really loves people, though she approaches carefully at first; she has learned that taking treats from people is a win:win! She is also learning that dogs are A-OK - mellow dogs are an easy sell for her, but it takes her a minute with more "in your face" greeters. She came to us not knowing many obedience commands but is starting to have fun learning to sit. Trixie is not used to eating in the presence of other dogs so will need to be fed separately for now. She has a high prey drive and is a little too overboard with cats so she will need a feline-free home. Trixie LOVES car rides, going through the drive-thru, and saying hi to new people. She is a quiet girl, not barking at anything so far.

We think Trixie would like a quiet setting with a dog buddy or as an "only child" She loves to snuggle on the couch with you, and she has been staying with pre-teen children and doing great.

Trixie would love a forever home!

Please note: We do not have a physical location, but we are supported by a network of wonderful foster homes that are spread throughout New England. A dog will need to be visited by a prospective adopter in the foster home where they are feeling safe and comfortable.

Thank you for considering rescue!
