Sophia's Story...
SOPHIA female DSH dob 12-18-09 DECLAWED

My name is Sophie. I am a three-year old spayed Tortoiseshell female that has my front paws declawed. My previous owners were deployed overseas and could not take me. I am hoping to find a new home soon so I can settle in and love on my new family. My foster mom says I am a little shy, but that's cause I'm not use to my surroundings yet! She's always telling me that I have wonderful big green eyes and great markings with a peppery face dotted with a cute pink nose! I am very sweet and will have a good converstation with you at times. When you cuddle me and stroke my head, I will purr, purr, purr! I am very curious about my surroundings but most days I will curl up in a warm spot and wait for some lovin'!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sophia, a Port Republic Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Port Republic, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Port Republic.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Port Republic already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Port Republic breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Port Republic paves the way for another one to be saved.
