My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sylvester, Rocky, Lola, and T-Bird were all adopted from the MCSPCA as kittens. Their adopters said that they would keep the cats even if their family unit changed. Well, 6 years later, they were expecting a baby and not only gave up the 4 cats but turned them in at the county (kill) shelter rather than returning them to the MCSPCA. Having been abandoned and betrayed by their family, it's doubly important that we find these cats homes that will truly be "forever" homes.

Sylvester is an incredibly nice boy! He is friendly and affectionate even in stressful circumstances like adoption events at noisy, crowded pet stores. Many of the cats clam up and look nervous but Sylvester is at the front of his cage saying "pet me, pet me!!" He is also a very handsome fellow with good manners, including faithful use of the litter box. He is neutered, current on vaccinations, and negative for both Feline Leukemia and Feline AIDS (FIV). Sylvester would be a wonderful addition to a loving home and would bring his new person/family much joy.

To adopt you must first complete an adoption application and either come to an adoption event or arrange to meet the cat in its foster home. We do not do same day adoptions so, generally, we can only adopt within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
