Marysol was found as a stray and taken in by a good samaritan who has been loving on this little girl for a bit now until her forever home comes along and scoops her up!

The vet estimates her around 2 years of age and looks to be a boxer/akita mix. We are not 100% certain of the breed mix. She is currently around 50 lbs and is being fostered in a home with other dogs and with cats. She LOVES to play with other dogs that have the same type of play energy. She does not care for alpha types and would do best in a home with neutral or submissive pups or no dogs at all.

She loves to go for long walks and jogs with her foster mom! She would likely do best in an active family who would include her in on these type activities. She is very affectionate and loyal.

She is crate trained, house trained and is able to be trusted in the house alone for long periods of time. Her foster mom reports that she is not destructive and has not chewed on anything in her home.

Please email us at bonniebluerescue@gmail.com if you are interested in fostering or adopting Marysol! Our adoption fee is $300. $75 of the adoption fee is refundable if proof of completion of obedience class is demonstrated within 3 months of adoption. Each of our pups goes to their forever family up to date on vaccines, spayed/neutered, microchipped, current on flea/tick/heartworm preventative.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Marysol (photolink), a Richmond Boxer/Akita dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer/Akita for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Boxer/Akita dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer/Akita breeders who help with Boxer/Akita rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
