Darling Darla's Story...
Darla is a very outgoing, energetic, and playful girl that has tons of energy and loves EVERYONE! She is very personable and greets everyone with her tail wagging so hard her whole hind end swings back and forth. She was dumped in a roadside ditch with her litter of 10 puppies back in January by owners who no longer wanted the responsibility of their care. She doesn't hold a grudge though and has maintained her love of folks through it all. She has now been completely vetted, including spay and all shots, and is looking for a new family with someone who will not get tired of her and wants a dog that can hang with their active lifestyle. She is an exceptionally friendly dog and loves to run and explore with kids. The hound side of her leads her to follow her nose, sometimes into places that aren't safe, so a fenced yard is a must and she has enough energy and love for life, that she would not be a good choice for someone who lives in an apartment or who has no outside space. She rides great in the car and sits like a lady while she watches the scenery pass by. Overall, she would make a wonderful addition to a family with children who wanted a buddy to romp with or active adults who were looking for a running partner. She is patiently waiting for a place of her own and new people to fall in love with!

About Our Rescue Group...
We are a small, Christian based rescue in rural West Tennessee. We believe it is our responsibility to be good stewards of our environment and by doing so, help the needy animals in our area. Unfortunately, the south tends to have an "it's just an animal" kind of attitude most of the time and this means that MANY wonderful companion animals find themselves the victims of neglect, abuse, and abandonment. We strive to rescue and rehome as many of these animals as we can. We maintain approximately 20-25 dogs in our program at any given time (the ones posted here are the ones that are ready to be adopted) and our goal is quality over quantity. We are not saving the MOST dogs of any other rescue but we believe the quality of the pets our adopters are receiving speaks for itself.
We have a "no-kill" policy and only euthanize a dog in our program if there is NO other option available to us (cases of extreme human or other dog aggression or illness/injury that is untreatable and is causing the dog severe pain). We do NOT euthanize an animal for reason of treatable illnesses such as heartworms, mange, etc.
We look forward to many more "saves" in the weeks, months, and years to come and enjoy every chance we get to make a difference. We also consider it our responsibility to educate our community on proper companion animal care, responsible pet ownership, and the positive ramifications of spaying and neutering pets. We have a no-cost weekend summer camp in the works for local children of low income families and look forward to our regularly scheduled talks with our local 4H Club chapters, our service projects with the Boy Scouts, and our other community events.

Come Meet Our Pets...
Since we are out of state, face-to-face meetings are not possible at this point. However, we will be more than happy to forward as many pictures and as much information on each animal as we can and are always BRUTALLY honest about our guys/gals. Any behavioral, temperamental, or health related issues are mentioned in the animals original bio and are then discussed in detail with potential adopters.

Our Adoption Process...
We require an adoption application which will be reviewed by our board and either approved or denied. We also require an adoption contract which states how the animal will be cared for once adopted (not left outside alone when nobody is home, never chained up, will not be given away, etc) Our adoption fee is $375 and that includes all vetting (spay/neuter, all vaccines, heart worm check, fecal exam, deworming, etc), current grooming, and transport to the adopters location. Once the application is approved and contract is signed, we will discuss transport arrangements with the adopter to find out which location and time is most convenient for them.

We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
We are based in west Tennessee and strive to provide our rescues and fosters a better life by adopting them out into the northern states because they seem to have a better grasp of proper animal care and what loving a companion animal actually means. Our adoption transport has stops all along their route up the eastern seaboard, so if you're interested in one of our guys or gals and decide they're "the one", we can make it happen!
