Nugent's Story...
Nugent is a gorgeous black boy who is about 4 years old and weighs about 65 lbs. He is a really good boy and gets along great with other dogs and loves the attention he gets from people. Nugent is described as a little reserved, but very friendly. He is playful but not hyperactive and would be considered low to medium energy. Nugent is kind of a goof, but a good goof. He likes stuffed toys and has not shredded them to pieces like most Labradors, just carries them around. This boy likes squeaky toys, hard marrow bones and pulling towels out of the laundry basket too. His foster mom says, “He is a good looking, adorable and really really nice boy. He is curious and likes attention and hugs.” Nugent came to us heartworm positive - he has had his treatment and is now heartworm free and has a clean bill of health. Nugent would be a great fit for any family and would love to romp and play in the backyard with his family or go for long walks/runs in the woods or on the beach. Nugent does well on the leash with maybe just a little pulling. He has not been cat tested, but we can certainly cat test if necessary.
Nugent is neutered, heartworm negative, up to date on vaccinations including rabies and micro-chipped. This boy is also house trained and crate trained. He is a smart boy who would excel in training classes and would more than likely be the star of his class. If you would be interested in learning how Nugent could become a part of your family, please indicate him in the notes section of the online application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nugent, a Lewisville Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Lewisville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Lewisville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lewisville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lewisville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lewisville paves the way for another one to be saved.
