My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Esther is a beautiful girl with a cropped tail, and is a light taffy/caramel color. She weighs about 15 pounds. and is around 2 years old. Esther is a ball of energy, as most cockers are! She LOVES to chase a tennis ball and would do that as long as you want to throw them. She can jump straight up on all four feet for about 4 feet high, amazing to see! She is crate trained and goes in willingly to sleep or hang out. She is good with kids, but we think she would do best with older children who could play with her. She seems to get nervous with high pitched squealing or whistling.... She is a cat chaser but has never tried to hurt one. As with most rescue dogs, we don't know her background, but she is really nervous around grown men. Becomes very fearful and almost 'screams', makes a loud distress sound and barks. Turns to growling and hair raised if they persist in approaching. She does NOT react this way to boys, only grown men.
She would be good for a lady or family with older kids who want to have a dog who loves to fetch and run -- if there is a grown man in the family, she would need patience and understanding about her fear of men. We think she could do agility trials if she were taught, she can really run and corner! She would love to have a fenced yard to tear around in! Esther is such a sweet girl and would love to have a new family. Her family can no longer care for her and asked our group to find a wonderful home for her. Please note Esther is being fostered in Tennessee, so you would not be able to meet her prior to adoption. The $450 adoption fee covers the cost of spaying, all immunizations and transport to your area.
