Introducing "Willis" - Poor Willis (9 years old - 4 lbs.) ... what a heartbreaking life so far. First he lost his eldery owner who died. He did however have his yorkie buddy he was bonded with... then a neighbor took both dogs and split them up; keeping one and passing Willis along to a new owner. Poor Willis lost his owner and his buddy all at the same time. How terribly sad. The woman who adopted him had two large dogs and Willis weighs barely 4 lbs. The owner stated he was matted and dirty when she adopted him so she took him to a groomer but that was 9 months ago and she has not brushed or bathed him since!!! When we got him he was matted to the skin and full of fleas. It took us two hours to get his nails trimmed and all the matted fur off of his body. All of his teeth are rotted and must be painful. He goes in for a dental cleaning next week & will have many teeth extracted. He is Heartworm negative, totally vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. He is pee wee paper trained as well. Once his dental is done, he will be ready for adoption. He is small dog friendly and seems to find comfort with the other small yorkies here in foster care.
