Sienna's Story...
Introducing Sienna! A rescue plea came out for this special girl in North Carolina. Sienna was scheduled to be euthanized the next morning. A special woman saw how sweet she was and was trying desperately to find rescue to save this girl's life. Sienna caught my heart and I couldn't stop thinking about her. A holiday miracle happened for Sienna in a transport north the weekend before Christmas.

Sienna was shy when she first arrived but day by day she is learning to trust. She is a very sweet girl who just needs some extra love and care. Sienna is heartworm positive and will undergo treatment. While she will not be available for adoption for the next few months this will give her time to settle in and become comfortable in a home. So far, Sienna has been a perfect foster! She is house broken and crate trained. Her crate is her “safety zone” and at times will go in there to relax. By no means is Sienna a “big” dog (she only weights 25-30lbs) but she has a “big” heart!

Please check back for updates on Sienna as she goes through her heartworm treatment.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sienna, a Rochester/Buffalo Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Rochester/Buffalo, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Rochester/Buffalo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Rochester/Buffalo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Rochester/Buffalo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Rochester/Buffalo paves the way for another one to be saved.
