Sally's Story...
Ok, get your Kleenex out for this one... Sally was pulled from a shelter and put into foster care where she was brutally attacked by a dog there, resulting in at least 10 bite wounds which ultimately needed 4-5 drains and multiple surgeries to close. As a result, Sally became afraid of even the most mild tempered dog getting too close. When I approached her from behind and touched her around her mid section, she froze and looked at me like I was going to hurt her. Now, after time, patience and much love, Sally is beginning to regain her confidence. I don't want to see her in a home with another dog as I think she will never get over that part of the trauma. But she's certainly a wonderful, loving, sweet girl who deserves the best that life has to offer. Rest assured that if I had no other dogs, Sally would not be available for adoption, but lying in luxury on my couch! So let's get her New Year off to a fresh start! She deserves that and much, much more!!!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sally, a East Hartland Labrador Retriever/Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Basset Hound for sale in East Hartland, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Basset Hound dog from a breeder in East Hartland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in East Hartland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a East Hartland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Basset Hound breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in East Hartland paves the way for another one to be saved.
