Lucy's Story...
Lucy is a little 10 lb Bichon / Maltese mix. Her coat is a little thin right now due to birthing puppies with poor nutrition but it is getting better and she will have a beautiful coat soon. This sweet little two year old girl was rescued from a puppy mill by the Ohio SPCA. At 2 yrs of age she has already been bred multiple times. It is now her turn to have a forever home that will love and spoil her. Lucy is housetrained but will not yet tell you she has to go out. She has to be watched and let out. She is catching on with the help of her foster brother. Lucy loves other dogs and wants to play so we will give priority to applications that have another dog in the household. Do you have the room in your heart and home for sweet little Lucy? Out of State adoptions MUST have a vet reference. Lucy's adoption fee is $200 to help toward her vetting. Please go to www.centralohiodogrescue.petfinder.com to apply.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucy, a Hilliard Bichon Frise/Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bichon Frise/Maltese for sale in Hilliard, or seeking a Bichon Frise/Maltese dog from a breeder in Hilliard.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hilliard already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hilliard breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bichon Frise/Maltese breeders who help with Bichon Frise/Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hilliard paves the way for another one to be saved.
