Eli's Story...
(Private adoption, contact: rodeo_kent25@hotmail.com )

This is Eli, an aussie/bassett hound mix, he's 1 year old, neutered and current on vaccinations.. Eli's owner would like to find a new home for him because life has gotten too busy for her, and the dogs (Tike is also her dog) are not getting the attention and love they need and deserve. Eli is great with kids and other dogs and good with cats, but NOT good with small farm animals. Eli is crate-trained and potty-trained. He is use to being outside most of the time, but would probably also enjoy a home where he could be inside. Eli needs a bit of work on his manners, which is understandable since he spends more of his time outside and his owner has not had the time to work with him. Eli needs a fenced yard or a lot of area to run, very energetic. He is a super friendly dog and needs an owner who has time to be with him.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Eli, a Colville Australian Shepherd/Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd/Basset Hound for sale in Colville, or seeking a Australian Shepherd/Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Colville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Colville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Colville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd/Basset Hound breeders who help with Australian Shepherd/Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Colville paves the way for another one to be saved.
