Murphy's Story...
Murphy and his friend Colby were found on an isolated strip mine in the head of a hollow. Fortunately for them, one of our rescue volunteers drives to this spot once a week because it is a known doggie drop-off area. Murphy is a 5 year old collie mix who is such a sweet boy. He wants nothing more than to be loved on. He is through the crazy puppy stage and is a calm, chill adult. He is beautiful with his thick fluffy fur and big bloom tail. He gets along good with dogs of all sizes and older children. He has been neutered, up-to-date with vaccinations, been given dewormer, and flea preventative. If you are interested in Murphy, please email for more information or for an adoption application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Murphy, a Hazard Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Collie for sale in Hazard, or seeking a Collie dog from a breeder in Hazard.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hazard already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hazard breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Collie breeders who help with Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hazard paves the way for another one to be saved.
