Carol's Story...
Carol and Vickie are the bonded twin sisters of Lucy, born to Ethel. Their mother and they were all rescued during Hurricane Sandy. They are first generation feral-born to their very sweet and loving, gentle mother. These two little girls are still very timid of people. They are still reticent to trust humans, having learned well from their wonderful mother that in the wild, a kitten must hide to survive. They are gentle, never baring their claws or teeth at us. These two sisters are very bonded and we do not wish to separate them. With patience and continued socialization, they will make wonderful pets. Carol and Vickie have been socialized with other cats and with dogs.

About Our Rescue Group...

We are an all-foster home, no-kill, cageless, no time limit feline sanctuary. We rescue high-risk cats the shelters and veterinarians will not otherwise offer for adoption. We focus on "special needs" and mature animals, although not ALL of our adoptable cats are mature or have a special need. We take these pets into our homes, socialize them with our own families and provide for all their needs until they are adopted. We stand behind our adopted pets for their entire lives. Some of our sanctuary pets are socialized, vetted and trained to provide pet therapy services to area rehabilitation and assisted living facilities.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Carol, a Summerville Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Summerville, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Summerville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Summerville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Summerville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Summerville paves the way for another one to be saved.
