Joy's Story...
Meet Joy. She is one of Mary's puppies. Mary was left at a shelter pregnant. Friends of Rescue took her in just days before her delivery. Joy and her siblings were all born in the care of a wonderful foster home and are growing like weeds. These babies will all be available for adoption after 2/1/2012. We are doing pre-approvals and taking applications in the mean time.

Joy is a precious pup. She is the real talker of the bunch and likes to tell everyone else to behave! In her picture she is the one on the left telling her two siblings to cut it out. Joy would make a wonderful addition to any family. Her mom is a medium sized dachshund mix, but we are not sure what her dad was. What we do know is that she is a DOLL! Puppies are a lot of work - so please be sure you've taken the time to educate yourself on the work involved with adding a puppy to your home.

Joy will be spayed prior to adoption and up to date on her age appropriate vaccinations at the time of adoption. She will be microchipped and current on heartworm and flea prevention as well. Her adoption fee is $225. To fill out an application, please email us at
Joy is being fostered in Huntsville, AL

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Joy, a Hamburg Dachshund puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Hamburg, or seeking a Dachshund puppy from a breeder in Hamburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hamburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hamburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hamburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
