Kimmie's Story...
Kimmie is a female 10 year old shih tzu mix. She has had a sad life - she was found abandoned and blind. When she was found she was so matted that it was unclear whether she was a male or a female. She was severely malnourished. She had green puss coming from her eyes - her eyes were so diseased they both had to be removed. Kimmie maneuvers around well now, and is living a safe and well-cared for life with her foster mom. Her favorite place in the world is sitting on her foster mom's lap.
If you are able to contribute to Kimmie's medical bills, please contact us today. Thank you for reading Kimmie's story.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kimmie, a Denver Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Denver, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Denver.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Denver already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Denver breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Denver paves the way for another one to be saved.
