Here is what his foster family had to say:
Patches is a very handsome dog, everyone who meets him immediately comments on how beautiful his face is, especially his freckled nose!
Patches is coming long nicely with his house manners although he does need to be supervised at all times as he is a puppy. He loves his toys especially loves squeaky toys and will happily lie at your feet and entertain himself, although he would prefer if you would play with it too!
Patches has completed his level one obedience and understands the commands, sit, down, stay and heel. Of course being a young pup he will need someone to continue with consistency to reinforce what Patches has learned. He needs a home where someone is committed to working on his skills; due to the fact that he is such a smart pup he really has an endless amount of potential with the right owner. Patches is house trained. When he needs to go outside he will go sit at the door and will often let out a quick bark or whine to let you know. Patches has adjusted to his crate and he is absolutely amazing in it. He goes in without protest and often settles down without a peep. Patches leash training is a work in progress. He does walk very nicely on a gentle leader so we have often been using this in combination with working on his skills with a flat collar.
Patches LOVES to be outdoors so if the door is left open he will likely bolt, he will not go far though because he just wants to play in the snow but for this reason he does need to be watched around the door. Patches loves other dogs! He has exceptional socialization skills for a pup, due to the fact that he is so young he can sometimes get a little rough but the older dogs quickly put him in line. He would love to go to a home with a another dog who he could play all day long with!
Patches has a moderate energy level. He does need a good run a couple times a day to tucker him out but as he gets older I think a couple 30 minute walks will be sufficient. He is a quiet pup. He only barks when he would like to go outside or during play.
Patches has the potential to make an exceptional family dog. I would ideally like to see him to a home with another dog because he really is happiest when another dog is around but I do think the most important thing for Patches is an owner who is committed to working with him.
