Sean's Info...
| Breed: | German Shorthaired Pointer Mix | Color: | Brown/Chocolate | Age: | Senior |
| Size: | Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg) | Sex: | Male |
I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, not good with kids, good with dogs, and not good with cats.
URGENT! We need to find either a permanent or foster home for Sean because we are over our dog limit. If you can help, call us at 319-481-0977 or e-mail dogsforever@netins.net.
SEAN is a beautiful and loving old gentleman. It is always heartbreaking to us at Safe Place when a senior dog is homeless. Sean deserves a loving home with a best friend who will appreciate him for the wonderful dog that he is.
SEAN is house trained and a friendly boy who wants to hang out with his humans. He is not good with cats and small dogs. He has not been around children, so Sean needs an adult home or a home with teens. Sean really enjoys his walks and is also a great passenger in the car. He is anxious in his new, noisy environment so we hope his forever family or foster family comes soon to take him home.

Shelter Info...
Dogs Forever Safe Place provides refuge for homeless dogs, where they receive loving care, free of fear and free of the threat of being euthanized. This is their sanctuary until Dogs Forever places them with a reputable rescue, a no-kill shelter or a forever family.
The dogs at Safe Place come from kill shelters where they were at risk of being euthanized and from Iowa counties that have no animal shelter.
Dogs Forever Safe Place is located at 3800 Wilson Avenue SW in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. We are in the building behind Hills Bank. Use the north/side entrance. Our hours are 11-3 Saturday and by appointment.
Adopters are required to complete an adoption form. They need to provide either a vet reference or two personal references. Once reference checks are complete, we arrange for a home visit.
Adoption fees are on a sliding scale; adopters choose the amount that is right for them. Our adoption fees for senior dogs (7 years and older) are on a sliding scale of $80 to $125; fees for dogs 1-6 years are on a sliding scale of $100-$150; fees for dogs under 1 year of age are on a sliding scale of $125-$175.
If you are 65 years or older, the adoption fee is waived when you adopt a senior dog. All Dogs Forever dogs have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated and tested for heartworm and Lyme disease. They are on heartworm preventative.
Adopters should live within two hours of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This is because home visits are part of our adoption process. Since we are all volunteers, it needs to be a reasonable driving distance.
