This beautiful young lady was caught in a trap up in Sanger and thought to be feral. Well, she fooled everyone! She is one sweet, albeit sassy little girl who held her own to the dogs circling the trap snapping at her and she just growled back and told them to BACK OFF!
She is one of many kittens left on their own to reproduce by someone who thinks that cats don't need to be sterilized... so rather than return her back to the neighbor and allow her to become a kitten machine? Or risk her being hit by a truck racing down the rural road - which often happens there... we're going to take this pretty little country girl and make her into a lady.
So she is our Fair Lady, and a lady she is. She has dainty little feet and a pretty little face with golden eyes with a touch of green and she is all black - her coat is not as glossy as we'd like it, but that will come with better nutrition. And she turtledoves, rubbing against things - and you. And purring the moment you call her.
She is playful and I had to re-roll the paper towels this morning as she discovered the joy of unrolling them! Toys are tossed high in the air and she bats at the other cats under the infirmary door as she is in isolation until her combi testing. I could not bear the though of keeping her confined in the kennel due to her desire to lay in the windowsill and she has befriended the other rescue kitten awaiting adoption on Friday. She eats well, is healthy and happy and such a sweet and responsive kitten. I am glad she was rescued rather than hurt by the dogs who cornered her in the culvert when she came searching for food - as the common belief is that cats will find their own food on a ranch. It is sad living for many animals with such a mindset...
She was vaccinated the moment she arrived on January 6th with FVRCP + Chlamydia, and treated for fleas and received her initial worming and ear mite treatment after a good ear cleaning. She was a good girl and didn't put up a fuss at all.
On January 10th she is set for a combi test to check for FIV and FeLV, her spay, rabies vaccine and microchipping. Following that? She is ready to go!
And we'll be doing our best to ensure that her siblings are also given the chance at good lives as indoor kitties - which reminds me!
Our rules! We have some things you should know before you adopt. At Star Cats we have some set rules: Our cats must be indoor cats only, they are to be house cats. You cannot have any smokers inside the home, they need to live in a smoke-free environment. Also, our cats can never be declawed. If any of these rules create a problem for you - then consider volunteering at a shelter rather than adopting.
To adopt Eliza, her fee would be the total of her veterinary expenses at the Low Cost Spay and Neuter Clinic which we estimate to be around $100. We waive our expenses for her FVRCP vaccine, flea treatment, ear mite treatment, and worming medications as we want our cats to have the best forever homes.

Rescue Group Info...
We are an all-volunteer group of individuals who love and cherish every animal we rescue. We operate at a significant loss and seek to place each animal into the best home for the duration of their life.
Donations are always welcome and tax-deductible.
We operate by appointments, and will meet at our adoption centers in Arlington and Krum, Texas. Evening and weekend appointments are available.
We require an adoption application and a fee for all adoptions. Animals which are too young for sterilization require an additional deposit to ensure they are altered, which is refunded to you upon proof of sterilization. Animals MUST be sterilized within 60 days of adoption without exception. We prohibit declawing and won't adopt to homes with indoor smokers. Should an animal not work out for any reason, we must have the animal returned to our rescue. We reserve the right to deny an adoption to anyone.
We have cats living in loving homes from coast to coast, in nearly every state! We have traveled many hours to meet adoptive families and worked with transport groups to get cats and kittens to their new, loving, forever homes. With an approved adoption application and a home visit? We serve every city and county in the United States.
