Meet Debby! An adorable and very energetic neutered female. Debby will melt your heart away as she is the sweetest dog ever. Debby has lots of energy so she is ideal for an active owner that will take her to long walks, hikes or jogs.
We are not exactly sure of Debby’s breed as she is an abandoned dog but she looks like a beautiful mix of Labrador and Shepherd. Debby is almost fully grown and weights close to 30-40 lbs. Debby was left tied to the door of our shelter in Guatemala. She had some skin issues and she was very afraid. She is now healthy and the happiest dog ever.
Debby will be coming to the Seattle area in mid-February. If you would like to meet her, you will need to fill out an application first. Please email to request one.
There is an adoption fee as we are a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit. 100% of the adoption fee is used to cover Debby’s travel expenses from Guatemala to Seattle and to rescue more dogs in the shelter.

AWARE (Animal Welfare Association - Rescue/Education) is a non-profit, non-governmental charitable organization, founded in Guatemala in 1998. AWARE is financed solely through membership subscriptions and private donations. The principal activity of AWARE is running spay and neuter campaigns. We have a permanent on-site spay/neuter clinic, run monthly spay and neuter campaigns using volunteer vets, and work to raise awareness for animal welfare in Guatemala. We also rescue and rehabilitate hurt animals. We believe in education as a sustainable means to embetter the lives of all animals, and we work to educate students in local schools about the topic.
Adoption fee will vary by dog.
An adoption application and contract is required.
All our adoptable dogs come from Guatemala. A poor country where dogs are malnourished due to poverty or are abandoned due to lack of appreciation if they are not pure breeds.
We are now serving the Seattle area thru a small network of volunteers to offer different and beautiful dogs.
