My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

To write Andrew’s bio, we invited the one person who knows him best: his hero Sue, who has been caring for him over the past three months at the public shelter!

Poor little Andrew was running the streets of Jersey City for quite some time. He arrived at Liberty Humane Society as a stray. He was emaciated, full of worms, and very sickly. Once he was approved for adoption, I made it a point to walk him just about every day and to feed him nutritious meals (doggie casseroles).

At first he seemed unsure of himself, so we stayed close to the shelter. But as time went on, we would take long adventures into Downtown Jersey City where Andrew would meet the lunch time crowd at Exchange Place. Slowly he gained confidence and became a local celebrity. People all over would shout, “Hello,” to him as we walked by.

Andrew is a great walking companion. He is very well-behaved and obeys diligently. He is sweet and affectionate, and he loves, loves, loves kids. He gets excited when he sees them running around and he wants to play too. So it’s best if there are kids in the home, that they should always be supervised when spending quality time with Andrew.

Andrew can jump high and seems like he would be good at and would enjoy agility. He is very smart and learns quickly. He also likes other dogs, but he needs to learn how to play nicely. Unfortunately, he is very cat reactive, so he cannot live in a home with one. I believe Andrew is housebroken because when we attended indoor events, he would tell me every time he had to take a break. A big plus is that he doesn’t mind taking a bath or having his ears cleaned. He doesn’t guard his resources and he doesn’t mind giving up his toys.

Now that Andrew is happy and healthy, he is ready for a forever loving home. Whoever opens his/her heart & front door to this little guy is going to have a loyal, loving companion for life.

Andrew is already neutered, microchipped and up to date on his vaccinations. If you or anyone you know is interested in adopting Andrew, please email bullyprojectnyc@gmail.com.
