Sandy's Story...
Sandy is a sweetheart of a kitten! She is 5 months old, and a rare 'Spotted Tabby'. She has clear spots, like a leopard, and her fur has a bit of orange in it. Sandy is nervous around strangers at first, but soon flops over to have her soft tummy petted. She is sweet and gentle and just a little timid; but loves people and playing with her mouse-on-a-string. :) Sandy gets along with most other cats, as well. Sandy was rescued during the storm that hit New York, and thus her name. This little girl is spayed, up to date on shots, litter-trained, and an indoor-only cat. There is an adoption fee, and references are requested. To adopt this darling kitten who urgently needs a loving home, please e-mail:

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sandy, a Syracuse American Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in Syracuse, or seeking a American Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Syracuse.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Syracuse already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Syracuse breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Syracuse paves the way for another one to be saved.
