Meet handsome Melton! This beautiful Pit Bull is about 2 years old. True to the breed, Melton is silly, friendly, energetic and loving. Melton's been receiving some training at our shelter but would greatly benefit from more. He's been learning not to jump up so much, but he would be best paired with an experienced dog owner and some training. He is a fast learner and VERY eager to please.
He is crate trained and does well with other dogs and just enjoys the company of others. He'll trade belly rubs for unconditional love any day - could you be the lucky recipient?

Melton's Story: Melton was found as a stray in Gary, IN on Melton Rd. He was nothing but skin and bones and had tested positive for heartworm. Heartworm treatment is very difficult on dogs and he needed to gain weight before he could receive the treatment (why he looks like a cute little sausage now). After having lived on the streets and going through the difficult heartworm treatment, Melton stayed as sweet as ever to the point where you'd think he'd been a family's pet his whole life.
