Rusty's Story...
Meet Rusty…"What a handsome guy!" Good looking, athletic, smart and a perfect companion are his traits. Rusty is a mix of Australian Cattle Dog and a Jack Russell Terrier. He is fun, cuddly, devoted, curious and loves beef jerky. He weighs 35 lbs. which is the perfect size…not too small, not too big…just right! He does well on walks and is completely housetrained (but does need to go out frequently). He is very much a gentleman and is well behaved.

Rusty is selective about his dog companions and would prefer to be the only dog in the house - although his foster mom was able to get Rusty and her existing furkids to peacefully co-exist. Rusty is about 8 yrs old, requires lots of exercise and patience. He completely ignores cats and would do best in a home without small children.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rusty, a Indianapolis Australian Cattle Dog/Jack Russell Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Cattle Dog/Jack Russell Terrier for sale in Indianapolis, or seeking a Australian Cattle Dog/Jack Russell Terrier dog from a breeder in Indianapolis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Indianapolis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Indianapolis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Cattle Dog/Jack Russell Terrier breeders who help with Australian Cattle Dog/Jack Russell Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Indianapolis paves the way for another one to be saved.
