"Hi there everybody...my name is BRUCE, and I'm an eight-year-old Chow-Husky mix fellow who is very handsome, very sweet, and very friendly. I have a beautiful coat, too! Wouldn't you just love to sink your fingers into my fluffy coat? Guess what....I'm in need of a new forever home, and I just know that there is a very special person or family who wants to take me home. I absolutely love going for walks, and I walk perfectly while on the leash. I'd love to be your best forever friend, and just think that we could share lots of happy times together. I get along well with other dogs, and I'd make a wonderful family pet. Of course, I'm already house trained. Since I'm a "Super Senior," MY ADOPTION FEE IS ONLY $30, and that includes my microchip and a free visit with one of our local vets. When it is very quiet here at the shelter at night, that is a very special time for all the animals because that is when we share our hopes and dreams with each other about finding a new forever home. All of our stories about how we came to be here at the shelter are different, but our hopes for the future are the same. I'd love to have a nice yard, where I could enjoy myself and get some exercise, and I'd love to have one of those comfy dog beds of my very own in the house, so that I could always stay close to my person or my family. I'm over-the-top in love with people, so I love to cuddle. When I smile, my tail wags at the same time! When you get to the shelter, just ask one of our very kind Shelter Staff to introduce you to the very handsome fellow whose name is BRUCE. We've got incredible exercise yards here; the perfect place to get to know each other. You can bet that I'll be watching and waiting for you, and also listening for the sound of your footsteps as you get close to my kennel. More than anything though, I'd love to have a new forever home, and who knows...I just might be that terrific and very special dog that you have aways wanted and dreamed about. Won't you help me make my dreams come true for a new forever home with you? Hope to see you soon. Love, Bruce" Kennel #26

We adopt out the animals that are not claimed by their owners. You do not have to live within the City to adopt an animal from us. We sometimes have animals other than dogs and cats.
We are located in the City of El Cajon which is east of San Diego. 1275 N. Marshall is two blocks north of Fletcher Parkway, Marshall runs parallel with the trolley tracks.
We are open Tuesday thru Saturday 10am to 5pm. The latest we start an adoption is 4:30. We are closed Sundays and Mondays.
Our adoption fee for dogs is $80.00 and cats are $80.00 All other animal adoption fee's are based on the type of animal.
We do an evaluation with you and the animal to be sure that it is the best animal for you. We require that all children in the household under 9 years old be evaluated with the animal and if you are adopting a dog and you currently own a dog, your dog needs to be evaluated with the new dog to be sure they get along.
