Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Charming 8.5 lb, 5 yr old Gertrude came as the bonus dog when we were pulling another dog from the shelter. She was a stray no one ever claimed. Poor Gertie was terrified at being in the shelter and was in a kennel room with many big, loud dogs. The cold chain link kennels and the non-stop barking were too much for her. She spent all her time hiding under a blanket. When the shelter opened the kennel door just slightly to try and get her for us, she immediately tried to escape, high tailing it down the hall, desperate to get away. It was clear she needed to get out and into a home environment.
Cuddle bug Gertrude appears to have a dash of Chihuahua but that makes her better equipped for a home with stairs. She is good with older kids and adults and has even visited a senior home where she excelled in lap sitting.
When treats come out, Gertrude will sit up and beg. (We call this ‘sitting pretty”) We are not sure if this just came naturally to her or if someone taught her this.
Although she is smaller than most cats, she will chase them so she needs a home without cats or a home with a bad ass cat. (Nothing like a cat smack down to put a small dog in her place).
Gertrude has been great with all the other dogs in her foster home. She loves to snuggle on the sofa with her people. She also enjoys chewies.
Gertrude is a snorer but we promise she is not very loud.
Gertrude is spayed, micro chipped and current on her vaccinations. She has also had her teeth cleaned.

The tax deductible donation for Gertrude is $200
