Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Oliver is a brindle boy, 3 1/2, who just finished a moderate race career and now only wants to race to the nearest couch.Oliver is apparently doing fine with cats now.
FOSTER UPDATE:
Oliver is a strikingly handsome, affectionate dog. At three and a half, he’s still part puppy, and hasn’t quite ‘found himself’ – you know, like the teenagers in the 1970s - but he’ll get there.
He wakes up ready to play, but after the morning run, sleeps like a grey! Oliver lives with two other greyhounds and amicably shares the feeding area. However, the head dog, doesn’t like to share his doggie bed and will growl at Oliver, but the foster mom has not heard Oliver growl back.
Oliver enjoys meeting people of all ages, although, at first, he’s a tad tentative. The only loud noise that bothers Oliver is the vacuum – the customary enemy of greyhounds.
He loves to ride in the car, is housetrained using a doggie door, and only barks when wild life have the nerve at night to walk close to his property. He gets along well with other dogs and cats.
Oliver is food motivated and, therefore, easily trainable, so he doesn’t need crating. Like many greyhounds straight from the track, Oliver needed to gain a few pounds. Under the loving care of his foster mom, that mission has been accomplished.
His foster mom is unsure whether Oliver knows his name, but believes he’s learning to respond when called. Oliver loves people and is a nuzzler. He’s a little wary of people handling his head, but this too will disappear with patience and love.
Oliver has an adoption pending.
