CASEY's Story...
Casey is white with brindle ticking. This 3 1/2 year old ended a moderate race career with a broken hock. He will be rehabbing from surgery for awhile, so won't be available for a while. His small dog and cat status is unknown, but he is in foster with a cat. Caey is a very sweet boy who loves to give kisses..

This greyhound is just a ball of love. His foster mom says he’s one of the sweetest dogs she’s fostered. He weighs 68 lbs. Casey gets along with people, dogs and cats. He’s one amiable pooch. Nothing bothers him. He’s not shy. He can be left alone with other dogs without anxiety when his humans leave for a couple of hours. Car rides are one of his favorite pastimes.
There is no doggie door in Casey’s foster home, but he makes his needs known by barking or walking around to show he’s unsettled. On rare occasions, when the foster family will be absent from the home for four or five hours, Casey is crated. He doesn’t seem to mind this restriction. Casey is healthy and no foods bother his digestive system. On the leash, Casey is a professional and doesn’t pull. He tolerates grooming well. He knows the commands ‘Come’ and ‘Stay.’ Casey knows his name and comes when called – well most of the time – after all, greyhounds are curious and things grab their attention!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

CASEY, a Tucson Greyhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Greyhound for sale in Tucson, or seeking a Greyhound dog from a breeder in Tucson.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tucson already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tucson breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Greyhound breeders who help with Greyhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tucson paves the way for another one to be saved.
