My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Gus. She is rooming with Salvador at Gina's house right now as we still have no room at the adoption center for more adult cats. Gus was a mother cat we spayed and returned back in 2011. She had gorgeous kittens which we were able to catch early and socialize. They were all adopted. Gus was being cared for by a gal who lived in York Creek Apts. She had always been a skittish cat, but not truly feral. Because she was not very adoptable, Gus lived outside and the girl fed her. That arrangement worked well for a couple of years. But when the girl moved she just left Gus behind. No doubt as her previous owners had. Thankfully one-woman cat rescue Lynnette took it upon herself to retrap Gus and get her to a foster home with Sue. Sue housed her until we had room at FOF. We have been working with Gus and she is getting more comfortable being petted. She does love other cats too. We have "caught" her and Salvador wrapped up in a cat bed together a few times. If we could find her a home where she isn't expected to be a lap cat, she would do well. We would even consider a barn type home for her if it was the right fit. Imagine what this cat's life would have been if Lynnette and Sue had not stepped in....
It's not just rescues that do the work, it's also individuals who care enough to do something for animals in need.
