Katness's Story...
"My name is 'Katness' and I don't know what that means but I think I'd like a new name....something more fun and friendly. I was brought to this shelter because I was adopted into a home with some kids and I wasn't used to being around kids....gosh,, they have lots of energy! Whew! I'm energetic and love to play, but I need some quiet time too! I'm just a youngster, about a year and a half and I have gorgeous green eyes with white on my face and tummy and pretty white whiskers. There's a nice lady Shelter Photographer here, Nancy, and I wanted to play with her. She's more fun than little kids! So, if you're looking for a lovely lady with good manners, that's me and I'd sure like to go to a new loving home. Won't you come in and ask to visit with me and maybe we will be a match for life! I'm in cage #127.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Katness, a El Cajon Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in El Cajon, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in El Cajon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Cajon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Cajon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Cajon paves the way for another one to be saved.
