Ginger's Story...
My sister and I were dumped at the shelter and we were SO SCARED that we piled in the corner together and wouldn't MOVE. The shelter was going to put us to sleep, but we were saved and finally able to relax and be ourselves!

Ginger and Pepper are about two years old, beautiful wirehaired coats - a perfect pair. Both are still a bit shy around strangers, but bond very quickly to their caretaker humans, get along fine with other dogs (might chase cats, we don't know as they haven't been exposed) and really should go together, but can be separated if necessary.

They are really just lap dogs and want to be cuddled and love to burrow in the blankets.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ginger, a Vista Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Vista, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Vista.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Vista already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Vista breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Vista paves the way for another one to be saved.
