Lady's Story...
Lady is a 5 year old Collie mix that was surrendered at a rural animal shelter when the elderly couple keeping her could no longer care for her. She has been in an HHS foster home for several weeks and has been a joy. Lady is a sweet and friendly girl, very calm and just a little shy - but she warms up very quickly. She has very nice house manners and is house-trained. Lady is great with other dogs and fantastic with cats! It's easy to see how she got her name because she is a real LADY! Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lady, a Richmond Australian Shepherd/Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd/Collie for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Australian Shepherd/Collie dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd/Collie breeders who help with Australian Shepherd/Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
