Louie's Story...
Poor Louie came into the shelter with a broken leg, and he is currently in a cast. Louie is such a sweet boy, even with his big cast on he just wants to follow you around everywhere. Louie is very loyal and loving, he's a pretty mellow boy considering his breed mix, but maybe that's just because he can't get around like he used to! Either way, once he recovers a little more he would love to go on daily walks, but will really really love to cuddle on the couch with you. Louie behaves very well generally, and loves treats, we think he will be extremely easy to train. Louie is great with other dogs and would be fine in a multi-dog household, or by himself. Louie would be a wonderful family dog, he loves people and kids of all kinds.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Louie, a Roosevelt German Shorthaired Pointer/Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shorthaired Pointer/Border Collie for sale in Roosevelt, or seeking a German Shorthaired Pointer/Border Collie dog from a breeder in Roosevelt.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Roosevelt already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Roosevelt breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shorthaired Pointer/Border Collie breeders who help with German Shorthaired Pointer/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Roosevelt paves the way for another one to be saved.
