Howdy! My name is Duke and I am always happy to meet new friends! I was once wandering around feeling very lost, but someone found me and took me to a place called an open-admission shelter (also sometimes called a kill shelter). I was a bit overwhelmed in that crazy place but was still so happy to have people and dogs to keep me company. Lots of dogs at the shelter would leave their cages and not come back and the buzz around the place was that they were not leaving to go to new homes. Sadly, they were put to sleep because the shelter was very crowded. Since I was so nice to the three other dogs living in my kennel, I was marked as the shelter's "temperament pick!" I was just so calm and easy going that they picked me as the best boy! It made me feel very special since I loved the people and other animals so much. So, the fact that I was such an awesome boy really caught the eye of the folks at Finding Shelter. I moved into my foster home and things have been great. No accidents in the house, I play well with others (just don't let the other animals near my food bowl, that's mine!) and I was even great for a bath and at the vet. I would just love to find someone who wants a big teddy bear of a boy to love forever. I hope that my forever can be spent with you!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Duke, a Norristown Husky/Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Husky/Australian Shepherd for sale in Norristown, or seeking a Husky/Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Norristown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Norristown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Norristown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Husky/Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Husky/Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Norristown paves the way for another one to be saved.
