Rocky's Story...

If you love to be loved, then you need a Rocky in your life and that is me! I was living with my young owner when her life changed and she left me to live with her mom. Her mom hadn't agreed to let me live there and didn't want a dog, so she took me to a shelter. It was a big and scary place, but I pride myself on my ability to make new friends in an instant and that is exactly what I did! First, I made dog friends and that's what caught the human's eye! One of the shelter staff members decided that I was such a good boy that I was allowed to go home with him as a foster dog. It was one of the best presents I had ever received! That was, until I got to his house and met his youngest sister. She is 10 years old and was my VERY best surprise and friend. I followed her everywhere and even slept in bed with her at night. THAT was my best present ever! But things at the shelter weren't so good and another dog really needed his life to be saved and I was told that even though everyone thought that I was perfect, no one wanted to adopt me or take me to their rescue, until Finding Shelter came along! They couldn't wait to accept me into the rescue and wanted to open a space at the other foster home to save that other dog. Now I am living in a wonderful foster home with the best dogs and people who make me so happy and are trying to help me find my way to my forever home. I can't wait to settle into a life with people who will make a commitment to keep me and love me for the rest of my life. I hope that we are the perfect match for one another!

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Norristown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Norristown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Collie breeders who help with Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Norristown paves the way for another one to be saved.
