Cody's Story...
Cody is an 8 or 9 yr old yellow lab boy who is very sweet with his humans. He is average size, weighing about 65lbs. Cody is very cute and has a very distinguished gray face and he is just looking for some love. Cody does get along with some other dogs, but he is pretty grumpy and would really prefer to be an only dog. A boy of his stature deserves his humans full on attention and considering what this boy has been through, we do not blame him a bit. Cody was pulled from a high kill shelter, he was vetted and treated for heartworm, and Cody appears to be having some arthritic issues. However, Cody gets around great and just loves his human attention and his good boy treats. Cody is house trained, walks okay on lead, and knows some obedience skills. He is truely a deserving gentleman and will make a great home for a household with older children, men, and women. Cody is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations and is now heartworm negative. He is also microchipped and kept on frontline and heartgard. If you are interested in adopting Cody, please complete an online application and request him on the notes section.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cody, a Lewisville Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Lewisville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Lewisville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lewisville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lewisville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lewisville paves the way for another one to be saved.
