Winky's Story...
Winky is an adorable cat rescued from a kill shelter. She has both eyes but the right one is partially covered by a third lid - most likely after an eye infection in kittenhood. She has good vision and depth perception so she is not disabled.

Pirate Winky is very sweet, cuddly, loves people, cats and kittens. She may be a little shy at first but - check this - loves parties and jumps from lap to lap especially if you offer her - check this - BROCCOLI! She loves green florets of any size. She is very funny little critter.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Winky, a Brooklyn Russian Blue cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Russian Blue for sale in Brooklyn, or seeking a Russian Blue cat from a breeder in Brooklyn.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Brooklyn already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Brooklyn breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Russian Blue breeders who help with Russian Blue rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Brooklyn paves the way for another one to be saved.
