My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We are learning a lot about Oreo - he definitely needs to go to a home where there is another dog. His foster brother Roscoe got adopted and Oreo's forward progress with being more outgoing has stalled a bit. We will get him a new foster sibling and he will be right back to his kissy sweet self. He does the cutest thing when he wants you to play - he will toss his head around and be extra-adorable! He still has some fears of certain things like loud noises but he is coming along. It works well to give him a treat and ease the pain of scary things. He is such an awesome dog!

Oreo is a sweet sweet boy. His foster family has school-age kids and Oreo likes to snuggle between them in bed and watch movies. He loves to go for walks and to play with other dogs. He is housebroken and will be a great medium size boy, he is about 9 months old (as of mid-February) and about 45 lbs now. He is short and stocky and may continue to fill out a little more. He can be shy at first meeting but warms up to new people with patience and treats. Oreo is quite the chewer, working out those puppy teeth, so he is crated when no one is supervising him and he needs strong toys like Kongs to keep him safe and happy. He has seen cats while out walking and just ignores them. When Oreo met a cat up close, he didn't move, just stared at her as if to say, "WHAT is that?" He is not one to chase, and more likely would run the other way. Even when the cat ran, he did not chase.

To apply to adopt this dog, please visit our web site to access our application and learn more about adoption through Lucky Pup, www.luckypuprescue.org.

Please note: We do not have a physical location, but we are supported by a network of wonderful foster homes that are spread throughout New England. A dog will need to be visited by a prospective adopter in the foster home where they are feeling safe and comfortable.

Thank you for considering rescue!
