Kenny is a sweet and quiet, 7 pound, Miniature Pinscher/Chihuahua mix who was rescued from the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter. Though the shelter marked him as one-and-a-half, we tend to feel that he is still under the age of one. The first thing you will notice about Kenny is his very cute "puppy-like" appearance; he has a sweet face with one ear up and one ear down. He can be shy towards strangers at first but once he warms up all he wants is belly rubs and to give little kisses. He is a wonderful balance of playing with the other dogs in the foster home (or laying with them on the same pet bed), to cuddling with the humans, to being off by himself enjoying his own company. He will lay in your lap and be happy, but he also loves to sunbath outdoors. Kenny does best when there is another dog in the home who he can lean on and help build his confidence. He gravitates to the other dogs and seems happiest and most secure when there is another canine friend in the home.
Kenny is housebroken and knows how to use the doggie door, however, potty reinforcement is needed in any new environment. He will need some training on his basic commands, but he is food motivated, and will train easily; he loves little chewy treats! Kenny does well on the leash providing the neighborhood is quiet. He does not like fast cars whizzing by, or horns honking in busy city streets, or loud noises. So if you hope to hang out with Kenny like a socialite in the big city, Kenny may not be your guy. He is more of a homebody. Kenny appears to be the type that would be fine with children as long as they understand that he is a little dog and that they must not be rough with him. He loves his crate and will retreat there for his afternoon nap. Kenny is a great dog in that will be a wonderful companion for both yourself, and also for your current canine companion.
Kenny is neutered, fully vaccinated, de-wormed, and micro-chipped. If you are interested in Kenny, please contact Angel’s Heart Dog Rescue at: adopt@angelsheartdogrescue.com. The phone number to the rescue is: 626-340-9316. There is no need to phone the rescue until you have first submitted an interest via e-mail.
