Mable is kind of an old-fashioned name...and I'm kind of an old fashioned girl. All I want in this world is someone to love me, give me a warm bed, tasty food, some treats, lots of affection and someone who will always be there for me.
I am an ENGLISH BULL DOG, which I know you knew the minute you saw my picture! Don't you just love my face? I was born in about 2004. I am not a real young lady but I am the perfect age for finding a loving, forever home.
I do have some difficulty seeing so I know you will make sure I am safe all of the time. I have had many litters of puppies... when I could no longer produce puppies to sell as readily as I could before - they threw me away like I was household trash. They abandoned me on a rural highway... which is about the cruelest thing you can do to any animal....especially an older girl who has trouble seeing.
The Humane Society volunteer who found me said I was SOOO FRIGHTENED and extremely dehydrated. I had a benign tumor hanging from one breast and I had been so long without food, that I looked like a skeleton. But, all of that is now in the past and I am told that I soon will have every dog's dream...a loving home and my very own people!
I love being at the shelter now. They let me live in the nice warm office and I get lots of food and loving! I don't like other dogs...they think maybe after I was forced to breed for so long that I like my own 'personal space.' I am HOUSEBROKEN and they say that is a very good thing! . Due to my age and limitations in seeing, I would prefer to be in a home with adults only. And, also because of my age, and I am a SENIOR dog, the Humane Society has a Guardian Angel Fund to help with my medical bills. They will tell you all about that when you come to get me.
I am Mable and I am ready to spend the rest of my life being loved by you... I know that you took one look at my SWEET FACE and that you fell in love with me. So, now it is time for you to come take me home!
