Liberty's Story...
Hello, I am Liberty, just few months ago I was homeless with my babies. A group of ladies rescued us. All my babies have found their forever homes, now it is my turn. I am super sweet, I get along with dogs of all sizes and really love people. I am great with kids of all ages. I am not too friendly with cats though, so would prefer a cat-free home. I do have some very minor food aggression, but only if food is placed in a bowl; I can eat with 5 other dogs as long as food is on the floor. I am 3 years old, 48 lbs, spayed, current on all shots, and HW negative. Please fill out an application to foster or adopt me (http://forgottendogs.org) or contact my foster mom, Lyda, so we can meet 713-416-2118

About Our Rescue Group...
We rescue in a low income area of Houston called the 5th Ward. We founded Forgotten Dogs of the 5th Ward Project about a year ago to address what we saw as an obvious need to help the many stray dogs we were seeing in there. We set up feeding stations and network and pull as many as we can when a foster home or no-kill rescue group says they can take them in. One of our goals is education and we provide residents with vouchers that cover the complete cost of having their animals altered and vaccinated against rabies. In addition, we provide other vaccinations and worming in the field free of charge. Since November 2011 we have grown in size and have rescued over 250 dogs and a few cats from the area. We are launching a program called Habitat for Hounds through which we will donate doghouses and blankets to residents for their dogs that are kept outside. Our website is forgottendogs.org and we are a 501c3.

Our Adoption Process...
Our adoption fee ranges from $100 to $150. We have an online application and a contract and all dogs/puppies are either spayed/neutered prior to adoption if old enough or arrangements are made to have them spayed/neutered afterwards.
