Digger's Story...
I came to AWLMC from the Montgomery County Humane Society. I was given-up because my family was moving and they couldn’t take me with them. I am a handsome, friendly, mild-mannered all black boy. Don’t let the color of my fur deter you from making me a part of your family. I am a really great cat!!! I am a little shy at first meeting, but give me some time and I will show you I am a wonderful cat. I love people and when I am spoken to I will run over to you. I like to help with everything, in this I am more like a dog. If you adopt me you will have a shadow following you around! Once I am comfortable I like to sit with and sleep with you. I enjoy playing. My favorite toy is the wand. I love to chase it. I don’t mind being picked up or carried either. I enjoy looking out the window watching the squirrels and birds. I love food! If I hear the treat bag I will come running! I am a great cat that can’t wait to find his new forever loving home! I was born in 2009.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Digger, a Gaithersburg Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Gaithersburg, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Gaithersburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gaithersburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gaithersburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gaithersburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
