Coltrane is a neutered male 13 inch Beagle, approx. five years old. He had been brought to a kill shelter at the end of hunting season and was slated to be euthanized due to overcrowding at that shelter when they made a special plea for CDHA to take Coltrane. They said that he loved Pupperoni and didn't seem to understand where he was and why he was there. We're glad we could save his life. Coltrane is so sweet and never stops wagging his tail. The poor guy is nothing but skin and bones but will soon gain weight. He's now waiting for someone who will love him for the rest of his life and who will value him as a member of their family--not treat him as a disposable item.
Rescue Group Info...
Like you, we love animals. Like you, we want to help animals. The Capital District Humane Association -- "For the Love of Animals" -- was formed in response to the serious need for a private animal welfare group to serve the Capital Region of New York State. It is incorporated and approved by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) of New York City. Members of the Capital District Humane Association (CDHA) are volunteers with many years of experience working with displaced and homeless animals.
We find pets new homes! CDHA has found good homes for hundreds of displaced animals through a careful "adoption" process:
